Unsettled

Published in the 2011 Anthology of Poems:

Unsettled, plenty of roots,
People of all walks of life,
Several suits,
Even more windows and doors,
The occasional 'hellos'
And the difficult 'goodbyes'.
Living life,
As free as one can possibly be,
Doesn't come without a price.
I wish I was you, she said.
I wish I could just go and be
All that I wanted to be.
How often have I nodded my head,
Pretending to agree?
